sOIL EVALUATION

The soil type in a property will determine how much water will be retained, affecting how wet your yard will be, what plants will grow there, and which steps will be required to build there. AES employs certified soil scientists that will identify the soils present on your property and help you figure out what you are dealing with.

Submerged Aquatic Vegetation Surveys

Development within waterways, whether a dock, jetty, or boat ramp, is limited by the presence of at-risk species of aquatic plants. AES will assess your underwater environment to see if any of these organisms are present and help you adjust your plan as needed.

wETLAND DELINEATION

Freshwater or coastal, AES has years of experience flagging wetlands. AES utilizes a GPS unit to locate all flags and pertinent site features to provide you with a quality map that approximates the wetlands on your property.

wetland replication & restoration

Perhaps your build took a new direction that the DEM isn't happy with, or you need to build within a wetland buffer zone. Either way, AES can help you determine the best way to restore or replace natural vegetation to meet the buffer zone requirements.

BUFFER ZONE MANAGEMENT

Many properties, especially in coastal areas, have buffer zones that are over-run with messy invasive vines, shrubs, and even trees. Most regulatory agencies will allow you to remove these invasives and replant with native species. Other buffer zone management options are also available.

Plan development & permitting

Since being updated in the summer of 2022, DEM legislation can be very confusing. AES is equipped to help focus your construction and management plans to ensure the regulations aren't a problem, and can help you navigate the tricky terrain of the permitting process.
